Double Vision

we got lots of these a week ago and then it snowed, then it snowed some more and more and more. They all disappeared. Then we dug it all out and it snowed some more. It's all settled down now and the snow is still here but everything is now normalish. Now the farmers have let them out again and the world looks lovely again.

Green Shoots and all That.

after yesterdays hopeful request for spring we were rewarded with more of this. There is more than a hint of, more and more snow, as the week progresses. This would be fine if it came and went at convenient timesm such as overnight or between rush hours. Ah well it is very beautiful, even though it has overstayed it's welcome this year/

Spring Colours

It doesn't feel like spring with lots of snow showers, however we live in hope that the warm sunshine will soon be here. Here at Grange Fell we now have eggs laid most days and it's been a pleasure to serve them. To eat an egg that has just been laid is a real privilege and hopefully as they mature we'll get four eggs every day.
I watched the sun set over the hill towards Lothersdale last night, It was ablaze with colour for quite a while, then just like that, the sun set and the cool colours of twilight took over.

Four Square

We have had four eggs this week, three large dark brown speckled eggs and a teensy weeny one in a sort of sandy beige colour. Maybe in a couple of weeks they will all be laying eggs and we can have an omelette.

Wobbly Feet

After looking high and low for lambs for a couple of weeks now, we are surrounded by them. They are popping up everywhere. The best bit is we have some just a short distance from the backgarden and this afternoon we spent a short while watching a doddery newborn, struggle to find it's feet and have a feed from mum, Ah Spring, it makes you feel all funny.

Sweet Spring

I can feel a sring in my step. The light is changing and the temperature is creeping upwards. It has been so cold that the promise of a sunny day is just mouthwatering.
