Homemade limoncello, cackers and pyjamas.

Hopefully everyone is all ready for the celebrations, well that is everyone except us that is, Still lots to do. This year we will be mainly drinking and eating with family. Tracey does the drinking and I do the eating so it's very fair. There will be crackers, silly games wild children and lots of kisses and cuddles. Presents are exchanged in a spirit of goodwill and giving, silly jumpers and pyjamas are worn exclusively. As Miranda says, 'Such Fun'.

Take anther bow. ye gentlemen of Bolton

Today has been the day of the Merry Gentlemen of Bolton. Take a bow, yet again guys you make my day, however I truly hope I never see you again, Maths and me are just not compatible, Scatterbrained yes, scattergrams are, er I beg your pardon, absolutely terrifying, All those dots, I imagine it;s a bit like being tipsy and trying to aim at a dart board. My fate is now with the gods and fingers and toes are crossed.

Winter Scents

The ice has melted just a little, mince pies are baked and we are counting the days to Christmas. Yesterday was spent re-milling and reforming our hand made soap. It's a very very messy process. and at the final moment the nice stuff is added. milk, honey and oatmeal this time. I do have soap that looks like the contents of a jar of baby food in solid bars. They do smell divine though, lavender,  fennel and orange.

Dark Days and Glitter

Sorry for lack of blogs this week, but school late nights, snowy weather and getting ready for Christmas are my excuses. Well that's not quite true, actually I am really a squirrel who just wants to hibernate. Dark days are not my favourite things and I look forward to the shortest day so that I can start counting the minutes of extra daylight that each day brings.
Our halls are decked with holly however with lots of glittery shiny things and Grange Fell is bedecked with festive cheer..

A little at a time.

Christmas is coming to Grange Fell. We introduce the decorations a few at a time so today has been lights stylised trees, door wreaths and the advent calender. The Christmas perfumed candles are lit, and the first food items are bought and stashed. Of course this means there will be no last minute panic buying, decorating, or general running round in ever decreasing circles. Of course we all know that this sentiment is just a seasonal dream.
